Thanksgiving in Columbus

IMG_0442[1]edited

We spent Thanksgiving in Columbus with EVERYONE! The whole family was there, all 22 of us which made for a full house but also made for a very fun time! Katherine had so much fun playing with all her cousins and running around and jumping on the trampoline. She was exhausted every night.  Thanks to Jason’s Mom we ate amazing food all weekend too!  We have a lot to be thankful for this year. I’m so glad we live near family. My side and Jason’s side. We just need to get Jennifer to move back now :) I’m thankful for a healthy family and a healthy pregnancy. I’m excited for this baby to join our family!

Kates Bedtime Routine

Kate goes 100% all day up until she goes to bed. She will be jumping in her bed as I leave her room at night. Before I can get downstairs she’s out. To prove it I taped Kates typical bedtime routine. You can see for yourself how she turns it off like a switch:

It’s Out of Control

My stomach feels twice as big with this pregnancy.  Not only is my bump bigger but I’m just gaining more weight in general with this pregnancy.  I have a feeling people are going to be asking me if I’m pregnant with twins towards the end :)  I took a picture wearing the same dress as I did at the same stage of pregnancy with Kate just to compare how much bigger I am. I love being able to feel the baby move on a regular basis now. That is seriously my favorite part of being pregnant, it’s just so amazing.

A Little Too Helpful

I realize this makes me sound like a serious complainer but it’s been annoying me for awhile now. I grocery shop mainly at Kroger and sometimes Publix. I love them both.  When I go to check out I put my items on the conveyer belt in a certain order.  Cold items together, pantry items together, squashable items together, bath items together…. This way they’re bagged in that order too.  However, lately every time I walk up to the line an associate hurries over to unload my groceries. Nice right? Well they never do it right! They put eggs next to bread and milk next to toothpaste…  I’ll even try to shoo them away by saying “Oh I can get it.” It doesn’t work, they insist. And then I feel bad and can’t start rearranging their hard work while they’re still standing there. I’m afraid it would insult them, so I’m stuck with a bunch of groceries that are all bagged incorrectly.  Thank you Kroger/Publix for being so helpful but please lay off a little!

Trick-or-Treat

We really drug Halloween out this year. It started with our ward Trunk-or-Treat.  There was food, candy, games, and tons of cute kids. I didn’t know how Kate would do with trunk-or-treating but by the third car she was holding her bucket out saying “trick-or-trick.” It was probably the cutest thing I ever saw. Jenny came with us so while Jason manned our trunk we took Kate around to all the cars.

Kate Dalmatian Dog

Katherine is still obsessed with dogs so I had to dress her as one!

Jason and I went to a Halloween party which meant we used an actual babysitter for the first time! When Kate was little we just toted her around with us and put her to sleep in a spare room/BR/closet, or we left her with my parents.  Kate’s older now and I knew my parents would be busy so we asked a girl from church that we really trust and everything seemed to go fine.

Actual Halloween was kind of a nasty day but we still had to take Kate trick-or-treating.  We went to my parents then went around to a couple of homes in their neighborhood. Kate really has the hang of the whole trick or treating process.  After awhile though she was over it and became kind of scared to go up to the doors, so we went home and handed out candy to the kids in our neighborhood.  We were left with a ton of candy and I have been eating HANDFULS every day!

More Mountain Fun

Back in August we went to the mountains (NC) with Ty and Dana. We love taking Kate on hikes plus it’s so pretty there and was a way to escape the insane August heat. It was a fun trip considering Dana was 7 months pregnant and I was around 9 weeks and sick all the time!  Something about mountain air really makes me feel better because I wasn’t as sick there just like when we were in WY. Dana even managed to do all the hikes with no problem!  I forgot my camera but Dana took a ton of pictures for us with her fancy camera.

A Day at the Zoo

Our friends, Greg and Lara, told us about this fantastic promotion Bank of America was having. If you’re a Bank of America customer you could go to the zoo for free this particular Saturday, which is totally worth it since it’s $20 a person to go to the zoo and there’s no way I’d pay that much to see caged animals. (On a side note – zoos really are kind of sad when you think about it)

This was Kate’s first time and she had fun. I don’t know how interested she was in all the animals but she liked the lions and the monkeys were her favorite. She mainly just liked being outside and watching all the people/ looking for babies. I really liked the kid area of the zoo. The have a playground, petting zoo, train, and other kid friendly animals. Except there was a worker dressed as a pumpkin head and he kept following us around even though he was obviously creeping Kate out!

We had a lot of fun and it was really nice to hang out with Greg and Lara since we don’t get to see them as often since they moved.
