Proud Mama

I am so proud of Kate. She has always had a hard time being in front of people and "performing" in any way. I went to her preschool for Mother's Day. The kids went to the front to do circle time. At first she wouldn't go, so I told her she didn't have to sing but to just go sit with her class. Her teacher finally convinced her to sit with everyone. Well after some time she stood up with her class and actually sang 3 songs!

I found out another cute story from my Mom. My Mom goes to Bible Study once a week for a couple of hours and they have a pre-school for the kids during those hours that Kate attends. Her teachers have also commented on Kate's dislike of being in front of the class. One day they asked who would like to come up and pray. All the kids sat there except Kate who raised her hand and volunteered to go up front and say the prayer! She thanked God for her Mommy, Daddy, and baby :)

This is a big deal people!

Some fun tidbits:

1. Kate doesn't really take naps anymore but occasionally still needs them so we do "rest" time. She is supposed to rest in her bed then if she's not tired she plays quietly in her room. What usually happens is that she turns on her light and just plays. I'm fine with this, mainly because she needs the down time. Every once in awhile she will play, turn off her light, climb into her bed, cover herself with a blanket and go to sleep! What kids puts themselves to bed??? I think it's so funny how she must decide she's tired then goes and turns off her light to start the process.

2. We've been putting Abby in Kate's room on the weekends. It's so funny listening to them on the monitor. Abby keeps calling for Kate and asking where everyone is. Kate patiently answers where Mommy, Daddy, and boy are until about the twentieth time when Kate finally tells (yells at) Abby to go to sleep and that she's tired. She gets creative and even starts singing about how she's tired and then BEGS Abby to stop talking and go to sleep. Abby cracks us up. When she's not asking Kate questions she's counting or bouncing or talking to herself...

I love watching them play together. Sometimes they hold hands and just run around the house. I keep forgetting to video and this is the only recent one I have of them playing together.
