Life in the Shehane Home

We almost always have our phones on us and there are lots of times when we think the kids are being cute or funny. Well, we pretty much think that all the time but occasionally we snap a quick picture.

Abby climbs up here and Kate puts a blanket on her then they pretend she's sleeping

The girls love playing in this spot

When Liam was only one month old we met some people at a park one evening. So sweet!

Playing in the crib. Kate loves playing dress up

Hands full with 3 :)

Nap Time

First time going to the store and the only time he stayed in his carseat. I wear him in the Bjorn every time we go out.

When Liam was 2 weeks old we went to Chick-Fil-A. He slept the entire time! I don't think I ventured out like this for at least another month. All of those kids are Melissa's and mine :)

Here are some more pictures from my phone.

I went out to dinner for a friend's birthday and Jason let Kate give Liam his bottle. She was in heaven!

One day while I was doing stuff inside or feeding Liam or somehow distracted I heard banging against the door. When I went to check I was dumbfounded. The girls made mud pies and were throwing them at the house! I was not thrilled...

Jason always says you couldn't manufacture a cuter child. I agree

Popsicles just aren't as good unless they're eaten like this. Notice Kate's "bangs?" She cut them herself...

Trying to document his dimple. I love it!

Jason had to work late a few nights and by the end we needed a distraction. So one evening, I put Liam in the Bjorn and took the girls to the playground behind our house. Kate was in dress up clothes and boots and neither girl's hair had been brushed. But they had fun!

First Came Love...

June 15, 2013

The Big 3-0

I should say I finally turned 30 because I've been thinking I was turning 30 for the past couple of years. I was excited for this birthday because I feel like it's a pretty big one. Not sure why exactly.

We couldn't do anything big since we had a nursing 3 month old but it was still a fun birthday. I celebrated it in little bursts over a few weeks. Dinner with some girlfriends at my favorite local restaurant, Bonefish, followed by a girl movie I've wanted to see that was actually pretty good. Dinner with my parents and some relatives with my all time favorite dessert. We even went on a date night that started at 6 and ended after midnight. Big deal for me considering I've only been out a handful of times without Liam since he was born. He took two bottles (never done that before) and did fine. We went to dinner at La Tavola in the Highlands with some friends. I'm a huge fan of trying new restaurants and this one definitely met my approval. I also forgot how cute that area is, so we had to walk around, shop in some boutiques, and listen to a street band.

Then I got to see Jason's office since he works right by there now. The building is owned by an interior designer so it's trendy and way neater than I expected. A start up business in a garage :) Then a quick detour to Atlantic Station and finally back to our side of town for a movie I've wanted to see.  I wouldn't have been able to comfortably leave all our kids with a babysitter (bedtime for a 4 and 2 yr old and 3 month old is no easy task), but my awesome parents offered to watch the kids.  It's so nice being able to go out without worrying. I've obviously left the kids with my parents many times before and it's always nice to know your kids are with someone who truly loves them! Before Liam, we usually went out one night (sometimes more) almost every weekend. Eventually we'll be brave and start using sitters again. I know this is just a stage and am enjoying living in the moment and this stage of our life.

I feel like I'm entering a transitional point in my life and it makes me excited. We have so many plans for our family over the next few years, and while I would like to freeze our kids in time at their current ages, I'm looking forward to all the fun we're going to have!

(My favorite part of my birthday was when all the celebrating was over and Jason surprised me with my favorite gift ever).

Sick Baby Girl

Abby woke up and obviously wasn't feeling well. We were laying on the couch when she got that look on her face. The one where you know you're child is about to throw up. Sure enough, right on me. This was her first time ever throwing up so it scared her a little. I got a bucket for her but every time she felt sick she climb on me... I went through a lot of clothes that morning. She claimed she was hungry so I gave her a dry piece of test. She just set at the table, not eating. I kept trying to convince her to come lay down but she wanted to stay there. I went to check on her and she had fallen asleep on the table. My kids have NEVER fallen asleep in weird places like this. Poor baby :( By that afternoon she was completely fine!

Mother's Day

We made our annual trek to Helen for Mother's Day. This was Liam's first time going and I think he enjoyed the sights... We actually went a week late since it was raining on Mother's Day.

On the actual day the girls gave me their gifts they picked out themselves from the dollar store :) and Jason gave me my Liam present. We went to my parents and played, then had dinner cooked by my
Dad.

I Love this!

My Baby Boy!

Poor Liam, all squashed up :)

Lemonade and a funnel cake. Good times

How cute are they?!
