Whenever we go hiking I like to point out to Jason the people who I think are the crazy/serious hikers. I was doing this our last trip when Jason told me that maybe we are the serious hikers. I started to laugh and was about to point out how wrong he was until I thought about it and realized that not only were we using our vacation to go hiking but were hiking with a 2 year old and a 3 month old. He then reminded me that we did do a 20+ mile hike and spent an entire week in the Tetons. I think Jason may be on to something…

Abby’s 3 Month Pictures taken by us
I can’t believe Abby is already 3 months old. She has her own little personality and we love her so much. Abby lights up whenever she makes eye contact with us or hears us talk, which always makes me smile :) We normally would have paid for Abby's 3 month pictures but Jason bought me a fancy new camera for my birthday so we took the pictures ourselves! We still have a lot to learn about using the camera but for now we’re having fun taking a ton of pictures of our girls.

Progression
Things are going really well now. When Abby first came home it was definitely a challenge. I could not leave Katherine and Abby alone for even a second. Kate didn’t quite understand soft touches and loved to use her elbows to get in Abby’s face. Abby would cry/yell when Kate got near her because Kate was always in her face or hurting her. There was a short stage where Kate actually tried to hit Abby to get a reaction. She learned real quick with some long time outs that that was so not okay. The other problem was that for some reason when my babies are newborns they like to cry a lot during the day. When Abby was going through this cry stage I would have to hold her and walk around which resulted in Kate holding onto my leg crying. There’s nothing like two crying babies to stress you out!
Kate has really taken on the role of big sister now. She loves to talk to Abby and make her smile. She is like another little mommy. My favorite is when Kate shares her favorite blanket and covers Abby and even gives Abby her baby doll to hold. Abby is a really laid back baby who smiles ALL the time. She isn’t nursing as often anymore and eats super fast so that’s no longer an issue with Kate either. We’re even pros at going to the store. Abby is happy as long as she’s in the Bjorn facing out and Katherine has always been good in the store. I’ve even been letting Kate just walk sometimes when I don’t have a lot to buy.
Abby is still waking up to eat during the night after a mean joke of sleeping all night for a couple of weeks. The other hard thing is putting both kids to bed on nights when Jason is gone. So besides those couple of things I’m really liking this stage.
Occasionally Abby will wake up from her nap happy
Kate loves to come with me to get Abby up from her nap

Happy Father’s Day
About once a day I like to proclaim to Jason that we are now parents of 2 kids! He just looks at me and says “Yeah I know.” That’s because Jason has this parenting thing down. It doesn’t faze him that we have two little girls; two little girls who adore their Daddy. Jason may be terrified of when our girls turn into teenagers but I know he is going to be just as amazing of a Dad to hormonal crazy teenagers as he is to an adorable toddler and sweet little baby.
Notice a resemblance?
*Jason likes to “joke” with me by adding after his “Yeah I know” with “lets quit while we’re ahead” :)

Abby’s Blessing
One night Kate was talking to Jason while wearing these super cute leggings. I didn’t even know she could hear me but I walked by and said “I like your cute little booty.” She stopped talking turned her back to us, bent over, and shook her bottom. It was so freaking cute and now whenever she’s naked she does the booty dance :) I have no idea where she learned it from but I love it!
Kate refers to all men as Daddys and all women as Mommys. One day I took the kids to Borders. There was a very masculine women in line and Kate pointed at her and yelled “Dada Dada” over and over. I tried to distract her but the lady still glared at me. Sorry, but it’s not my fault if you insist on getting a boy haircut and wearing boy clothes!
This is how you know Jason has a slack dress code at work: The one day he wore a button down shirt when he got home Kate said “Daddy church, where’s tie?” Jason could not convince her he wasn’t going to church and she just kept saying “Daddy church” over and over.
