Pregnancy Update

I am almost 33 weeks pregnant now! I’ve definitely been feeling the need to get things ready and organized. I had Jason build a storage wall system (pics to come later, he did an amazing job!) for the kid’s toys. Even though Abby isn’t moving out of the nursery yet, I moved most of her clothes to Kate’s room so I could empty the drawers. I’ve started washing boy clothes and organizing them in the drawers. Thanks to Laura and Melissa I have lots of newborn clothes! I was worried about not having anything and now I have plenty. They’re awesome to loan their clothes to me, hopefully I can keep them all straight to return as baby boy grows out of them!

I feel really good for the most part. This past week I’ve been starving and I’m pretty sure I gained a ton of weight from all the brownies, cookies, cake, pizza I’ve been eating. I literally make this stuff just for me simply because I want it. Unfortunately, my leg cramps are back at night which means I haven’t really slept the past few nights. Definitely starting to feel the lack of sleep!

33 Weeks – I like these pictures because they’re just some causal, make up free, hair not blow dried, playing with the kids outside pregnant pics. Pretty much how it usually it is!

Going Private

I’ve held off on this for awhile for various reasons but lately I’ve been feeling the need to be a little less public with our lives, mainly our children’s. If you happen to ever glance over here send me your email so I can add you!

Katherine’s Birthday Week–Actual Day

Day 2:
I hung balloons on Kate’s door while she was asleep. She loved her surprise in the morning (so did Abby).

We had pink and purple pancakes for breakfast which she loved and made me save some for Daddy.

That afternoon Abby and I brought cupcakes to her preschool.

Lastly, Jason and I took just Kate out to dinner to celebrate. She wanted to go to this particular Chinese restaurant since they let her drink out of a real glass for her water :)

She had such a fun day and felt like a real big girl! I’m glad we were able to make her birthday a special day.

Katherine’s Birthday Week (1)

Day 1:
We went out to lunch with Kate for her birthday to her favorite place to eat with Grandma and Granddad, The Patio. It’s her favorite because of the awesome muffins. My parents let her pick out any dessert. Out of all the cupcakes, cookies… she picked out this small powdered lemon cookie for herself and a large star cookie for Abby.

Katherine’s Birthday Week–Princess Party

Day 5:
This year Kate really wanted a princess party and she wanted to have actual friends come to her party. We’ve only done family stuff before so I wasn’t sure about the whole party thing, but she was quite persistent. I told her we could have a very small party with 4 little girls since she was 4 years old. I had fun decorating for the party and Kate thanked me the night before for all her pretty decorations. Grandma, Granddad, MeeMaw, PawPaw, Jenny, Brian, Ty and Dana came and her little friends were Hadley, Audrey, Laralyn and Ava. Our niece Sarah came too and helped out with the little girls painting their crowns and painting their nails.

When the kids first got here I had them paint and sticker crowns. Then we had lunch: heart shaped PB&J, fruit, goldfish, and veggies. After lunch they played a little with Kate’s dollhouse then we had cake and opened presents from her friends. I had goody bags for the other girls so they would have something to open while Kate opened her presents. (She opened family presents after the girls left). Then we dug for treasure in two large bowls filled with rice. They closed their eyes and dug until they found a treasure,  a necklace or a ring. Lastly, we painted nails and watched a Disney Princess sing-a-long movie until their nails dried and they left.
Kate is still thanking me for her party and talking about how fun it was. I’m glad she enjoyed the day. Even though I did a low key party with not many kids it was still a lot of work. We will never be those people who have large, elaborate (aka expensive) parties and probably won’t even do one every year. But I will be sure to make her “birthday week” special every year!

Surprise Divorce

I was so surprised to hear Heidi Klum and Seal were getting divorced. I know, how could I possibly be surprised by anything people I have never met are doing?! But nonetheless it still surprised me. When I told Jason his response was, “Yeah, so?” I explained that they have 3(4?) kids together and renew their vows every year. It’s weird to think a couple would be doing these grand gestures of their love if they really had a troubled marriage. Jason’s conclusion was that couples only do those grand gestures because their marriage is in trouble, ie Kate (Jon and Kate plus 8) and her husband did the exact same thing right before they announced their divorce. Either way I’m still shocked by the actions of these complete strangers!

Jason’s Got Some Competition

Kate informed us that Andrew with a blue jacket (there’s two Andrews in her class) wanted to marry her. She told him she would marry him but it could only be for pretend because she was going to marry her Daddy.

Yep, she loves her Daddy and I’m pretty sure she’s got him wrapped around her little finger!

Here’s two random but fun pictures from today…
